The right information on the TV at the moment people need it. Start with the visitor's next action: find the room, read the menu, understand the offer or return after the break.
A small venue does not need a complicated content programme to make its screen useful. Choose a small set of clear messages and decide who is responsible for changing them. This page gives a simple running plan you can adapt to your venue.
Before people arrive
Show the event name, the room or the service about to begin. Keep the welcome short enough to read while walking past. Check that the date and time belong to today's event.
For a café, this may be the breakfast menu. For a workshop, it may be registration directions. For a reception area, it may be a welcome and the place visitors should wait.
While the venue is busy
Keep the most useful information stable. A readable menu, a current serving number or the next session can do more than a stream of changing messages.
If the screen needs manual changes, assign one person to the controller. Give them the current PDF or wording before service starts, rather than asking them to improvise in front of the audience.
Breaks and changeovers
Use a short instruction or a visible timer when the group needs to come back together. Put the room name or next action alongside the time so people understand what the countdown means.
After the event, clear information that is no longer relevant. A screen showing yesterday's room change is less useful than a simple current welcome.
